About
I began carving in 1961 and continued as an enthusiastic amateur until 1978, when I decided to pursue professional training at the City and Guilds of London Art School, focusing on the classical aspects of carving. Since then, I’ve honed my skills and in 1981 became a proud member of the Association of Master Carvers.
My journey then took me to the USA, where I taught and worked, further developing my craft. This move proved invaluable in accelerating my understanding of how to thrive in this specialised field. I built a company entrusted with executing large, ornamental wood carvings for residential and religious projects across the USA and Europe. Now based in the South of France, I dedicate much of my time to teaching carving classes and mentoring the next generation of professional carvers. In addition to this, I enjoy a passion for cooking—wandering through local markets to source fresh ingredients, and growing my own vegetables and herbs.
